Given on the occasion of his election as Speaker of the House of Commons, with the conventional affirmations of loyalty and pleas of unfitness for the office; together with a copy, in another hand, of the first part of his second address to the King, in answer to the Lord Keeper's reply to his first speech. Second speech is incomplete or unfinished.
